The 30 Rules

Rules of Thought

  • improve each of these imperfect rules except this one
  • inquire first about any idea if someone has already had an idea equal to or better
  • think freely
  • choose the best idea, not the most convenient
  • thoughts are healthy if you keep alive the innate curiosity about the world

Rules of Reality

  • reality is a small part of what your senses captures
  • watch and think to yourself as you look and think of a tree, a house, a cloud
  • thoughts and fantasies are theories
  • if the actual experience always confirms a thought and does not contradict anything, that thought is not an illusion
  • the objective reality exists in the extent to which people find meaning and agreement on it

Rules of Beauty

  • respect and cultivate passion for the arts
  • enhance the living environment you belong to
  • seek a balance of form and substance, quantity and quality, space and time
  • respect deeply and carefully your body and everything surrounding
  • control and brighten your thoughts with a smile to the world

Rules of Relationship

  • remember that love means to give for free
  • respect the thoughts of others and criticize the illusions
  • comply with rules shared with a deep sense of honesty and justice, and admitting your mistakes immediately
  • celebrate with solemnity and joy and celebrate with your loved ones the most important moments in which life is renewed (both unions that the separations)
  • transmit these rules always with your good example, sometimes with teaching and never under duress

Rules of Action

  • let them do to you what you think is good and don’t let them do to you what you think is wrong
  • make to the other what the other thinks is good and don’t make to the other what the other thinks is bad
  • do the lesser evil is always an act of evil and laziness and not a good thing
  • in everything we do try not to cause suffering to any living being
  • in everything we do try to bring joy and prosperity to the whole

Rules of Life

  • the purpose of your life is simply living the eternal present
  • the meaning of your life depends on how you live it
  • everyone decides their lives and everyone is responsible for its actions
  • live in this present let growing in it the memory of the experience, because there is no future or past, only an eternal present changing
  • your life is one and this one: live each moment with serenity, peace, wholeness, joy and wonder for you and all other living beings
